As stated by the authors, the species name is a Latin adjective ( obtusus, -a, -um = blunt). Type material. Holotype (not examined), TAIWAN , Fenchifu , Chiayi Hsien , 16.VI.1987 , S.C. Tsaur ( NCHU ). Distribution . Taiwan . Diagnosis. According to the original description and illustrations Saccharodite obtusa shows some similarities to Sa. lutea Zelazny from the Philippines and Sa. solitaria sp. nov. from New Guinea . It can be distinguished from these by the faint infuscations on the forewings and the pointed processes of the male aedeagus.
