Distribution and habitat.
Gymnophthalmus vanzoi
is endemic to northern
Amazonia
, typical of the Lavrado area of the
Guiana
region, occurring in
Brazil
(
Fig. 11
) and
Guyana
(Cole
et al.
2013). In
Brazil
, it is only known from the
Roraima
state.
Gymnophthalmus vanzoi
is sexually dimorphic, terrestrial, and diurnal, inhabits open vegetation areas (savannas), where it is found among leaf litter and on open sandy soil (Carvalho 1997).
