Material examined.
Stn 21, colony with several monosiphonic stems, a few mm high, with a few polyps (NIWA 117479); Stn 148, a few solitary polyps
on
Staurotheca nonscripta
(MNCN 2.03/530).
Description.
Polyps 300–450 µm high, with ca. 16 tentacles, and a relatively large basal groove. Cnidome composed of large macrobasic euryteles (21–24.8
x 8–10
µm), apparently only on hypostome, and small microbasic euryteles (7–8.5 x 3.5–4 µm).
Ecology and distribution.
Shelf species found at depths between 10 (
Puce
et al.
2002
) and
135 m

, epibiotic on
Staurotheca nonscripta
. Species found epilithic on pebbles (Peña Cantero 2009) and epibiotic on algae (Peña Cantero
