Eurya nitida Korthals var. rigida Hung T. Chang (1954: 52) . Type:— CHINA . Guangxi : Jinxiu, Xiuren, Yaoshan, Nengluo, in dense forest, small shrub, flower white, 8 Dec. 1936 , Zhi Huang 40574 ( lectotype IBSC herb. #106802!, here designated ). Remaining syntype :— CHINA . Guangdong : Yingde, Wentang Shan, in sparse forest, shrub, 2 m high, mature fruit blue, 11 Oct. 1931 , Xiang-Ri Liang 61359 (IBSC-0003664!). Two gatherings, Xiang-Ri Liang 61359 and Zhi Huang 40574 , were designated as male and female “type” in Chinese, respectively, in the protologue ( Chang 1954 ). The one we designate as the lectotype has a paper bag with the flower material dissected presumably by the original author. This species was originally described from Guangdong and Guangxi . It is treated as a synonym of Eurya rubiginosa Hung T. Chang var. attenuata Hung T. Chang (1954: 46) by Ming & Bartholomew (2007) .
