Taczanowski (1875: 526) specified that this female was a unique specimen known for the species. It is thus its holotype . The specimen was deposited in the MIZ ( Taczanowski 1889: 21 ), but was destroyed in the 1920s (cf. Sztolcman & Domaniewski; see Mlíkovský 2009b for details). Holotype (lost): MIZ unnumbered (N.7178), Ƥ, collected by Jelski on an unknown date [= August to December 1870 ] at "Monterico" [= Monterrico, Peru ]. Type locality : "Monterico" ( Cabanis 1873a: 67 ), i.e. Monterrico, Peru [ 12.05°S , 74.10°W ].
