Diagnosis.—
This species differs from other
Nesticus
by the bifid tip of the tegular apophysis, the presence of a long hookshaped process extending well beyond the cymbium [labeled in
Huber (1993)
as p6: process of the conductor] and the simple paracymbium. Females differ by the median septum greatly enlarged posteriorly and the oblique septal grooves.
Distribution.—
According to
Gertsch (1984)
, the species is introduced into North
America
. It is known on the East Coast of North
America
from Québec (this record) to Massachusetts.
Remark.—
This species was included in
Paquin & Dupérré (2003
, figs
1958–1960
) without comment. That mention was based on the record given here, which is also the northernmost for the species.
