The Type Locality is just across the border from north-eastern Iran where this taxon is widely distributed ( Tshikolovets et al . 2014: 319–320 ). The type material, present in the Natural History Museum, London, consists of a holotype male ( Figs 16A, B, C ), an allotype female and four male and one female paratypes , All the specimens display the wing characters typical of M. ornata , of which it was considered previously to be a subspecies ( Tshikolovets et al . 2014: 319 and Russell & Tennent, 2016: 47 , note 33).
