Väisänen, 1984
The subgenus
Neomycomya
is characterized by the lack of the male mid-coxal spur, bare mediotergite, and the yellow abdominal tergites with dark brown posterior margins. The male hypopygium has large submedial lobes, while the lateral appendages are small and there are no apical combs of setae or spines.
The subgenus has only one species, which is known from the Palaearctic, Nearctic and Oriental regions (Väisänen 1984).
