Delucchi described both sexes and stated` Type in meiner Sammlung.’ but did not specify the number of specimens he had. Examination of the type series of fulgens and Miscogaster ru W pes Walker as well as 23 females and 25 males from England, Hungary, Italy , Sweden , and Switzerland ( BMNH , MZL , NMBE , VD ) con®rmed the synonymy as discussed by Graham (1969: 230) . There are diOEerent colour forms which run to ru W pes in Graham’s key (1969: 227, 228). Some specimens have the base of the mandibles strongly darkened, others have them completely pale (e.g. type series of fulgens ) but intermediates also occur (e.g. lectotype of ru W pes ). Both forms were occasionally caught together, for instance two females from England, Middlesex , Southgate , 24 September 1968 , leg. M. W. R. d. V. Graham ( NMBE ) . Status . Junior synonym of Miscogaster ru W pes Walker syn. n.
