One of the most numerous species in some of the studied water bodies, especially lakes. At sites 27 and 31—large numbers of juvenile specimens (224 and 46, respectively), females (205 and 63) and gravid females (22 and 11) plus two males (one at the each biotope) (total abundance is 168 and 45 x10 3 /m2). In the other quantitative samples—1 to 15 juvenile individuals, females and gravid females (up to 6 x10 3 /m2). In the qualitative samples—about 10 at sites 28 and 29 and over 60–150 juvenile specimens, females and gravid females at sites 45 and 46. Ecology and distribution. Presumably an amphibiont. Occurs in various water bodies, wet habitats, and soil ( Jairajpuri & Khan 1982 ; Zullini & Peneva 2006 ). Has relatively wide distribution, especially in the tropical belt. Was registered in the countries of South, Central and North America , Africa, Asia, on the New Guinea Island ( Zullini & Peneva, 2006 ; Andrássy 2009b ). Not recorded in Vietnam until present freshwater meiobenthos studies ( Gagarin & Gusakov 2013a ; Gusakov et al. 2014).
