General: Body size medium. Fastigium of vertex narrow, more than half the width of the first antennal segment, without longitudinal furrow above ( Fig. 2D ). Occiput without longitudinal carina, bearing center suture. Anterior margin of pronotum nearly straight, posterior margin broadly rounded, disc of pronotum without flat hind part, with conspicuous median suture but transverse sulci indistinct ( Figs. 1C, D ; 2A, B ; 3A, B ). Prosternum unarmed, meso- and metasternum with widely rounded tuberculous lobes ( Figs. 2F ; 3G ). Tegmen semi-cordiform and very small, about a quarter of mesonotum, no veins developed, wings completely absent ( Figs. 2E , 3F ). Fore and mid coxae with a spine ( Fig. 2F ); tympana absent on both sides of dorsal surface of fore tibiae ( Figs. 3E , 2C ) and with 0~3 moveable spines inside and 1 pair of spurs, beneath with 4 pairs of moveable spines and 1 pair of spurs, both pairs of spurs with inner one longer; mid tibia dorsally with 3 inner and 2 outer moveable spines, ventral surface with 3 inner and 4 outer moveable spines, and apically with 1 pair of dorsal and 1 pair of ventral spurs of roughly equal length except inner dorsal one; genicular lobes of all femora without spines; all femora unarmed below, external surface of hind femur with distinct chevron ridges; hind tibia with 9~12 spines each margin above, bearing 4 pairs of spurs: the lowest pair is the shortest, the second lowest pair is also the second shortest, the third shortest is the dorsal pair, those 3 pairs each with both spurs roughly equal in length, and the longest spur is inner one of the intermedia pair ( Figs. 2A ~C; 3A, B, E). Male: Body smaller. 9 th abdominal tergite prolonged and decurved at central posterior margin, width of this lobe almost equal to the distance between paired barbs which plate dorsal surface of 10 th abdominal tergite, the area between these hooks collapsed downwards and extended backwards at middle of hind margin which is emarginate ( Figs. 2G ; 4A ~C). Epiproct rounded triangular ( Figs. 2G, J ; 4A ); paraprocts each with an elongate and upcurve portion, slightly setose, with roundly truncate apex and presenting a small spine ( Figs. 2G, H, J, K ; 4A ~C). Cerci cylindrical, rugose and setose, gradually narrowing towards apex, little longer than length of pronotum ( Figs. 2A, G, K, L ). Subgenital plate with almost parallel lateral margins apically, hind margin truncate; styli large, compressed at base and swollen at distal part, and very close to each other ( Figs. 2H ~L; 4B~D). Female: Body larger. 7 th ~9 th abdominal tergite slightly prolonged in the middle ( Fig. 3H ), 10 th abdominal tergite trapezoidal protruded and slightly down collapse in central ( Figs. 3H ; 4E ). Cerci as in male but shorter than pronotum ( Fig. 3A, B ; 4G, E ). 7 th abdominal plate large and nearly elliptic, subgenital plate triangular with acute-angled apex ( Figs. 3I, J ; 4F, G ). Ovipositor arcuate-upcurved, gradually tapering towards the apex, dorsal valves are longer ( Figs. 3B, I ; 4G ). Coloration: Shiny black brown, pronotum, mesonotum, metanotum and abdominal tergites almost glabrous, with light brown underneath and distal part of femora, knees and proximal part of tibiae darkened but changed gradually ( Fig. 1 ). Measurements (mm): Body length ♂ 16.1~19.6, ♀ 17.9~19.7; length of pronotum ♂ 5.5~6.9, ♀ 6.4~6.8; length of tegmina ♂ 0.5~0.9, ♀ 0.7~1.0; length of fore femur ♂ 6.2~7.7, ♀ 6.8~7.1; length of hind femur ♂ 14.5~18.5, ♀ 16.2~17.4; length of ovipositor 8.9~9.5. Remarks: The species resembles three Japanese species, but sharply differs in smaller tegmina without veins, wings absent, vague transverse sulci and tips of styli broadly rounded instead of pointed. The ventral part especially distal part of tibiae yellowish brown, not pale. The specimens from Guangxi Province are exactly same as material from Zhejiang Province except smaller in size. This species usually encountered and observed on the base of tree trunks, especially larger trees at night (they may be higher but never observed) as its congeners in Japan . Etymology: This specific epithet from Tianmu Mountain where it was first discovered. Distribution: China ( Zhejiang , Guangxi )
