Male with apex of genital operculum obtuse to rounded; basal plate triangular, with subacute apex, subequal to or longer than paramere; parameres dilated at base, narrowing gradually toward apex and curved inward at midlength. Redescription General color dark brown. Anterior region of hemelytra lighter than posterior region. Body robust. Head with numerous thin setae around eyes and on anterior region; eyes projected laterally. Pronotum with many thin setae and wellmarked punctures on lateral edges; scutellum and hemelytra surfaces with wellmarked punctures; hemelytra quite transparent, the hind wings visible through them ( Fig. 9 ); anterior region of hemelytra with more setae than posterior one; forefemora cylindrical, not dilated ( Fig. 13 , FEM). Comments. Coleopterocoris hungerfordi differs from C. nelsoni n. sp. and C. kleerekoperi in possessing a more robust body, eyes projected laterally with numerous setae around them, and forefemora cylindrical, not dilated. In addition, these three species can be distinguished by features of the male genitalia. In C. hungerfordi specimens the parameres are dilated basally, narrowing gradually toward the apex ( Fig. 11 ); in C. kleerekoperi the parameres are rightangled upward near midlength and have a constriction near the apex, whereas in C. nelsoni the parameres are rightangled upward near the midlength but are of the same width at all extension ( Figs. 5–6 ). Distribution ( Fig. 14 ). Coleopterocoris hungerfordi has been reported from the Brazilian States of São Paulo and Paraná ( De Carlo 1968 ). The known distribution of this species now includes the State of Rio de Janeiro , Municipality of Nova Friburgo, Lumiar [ 22 o 22’ 0” S , 42 o 12’ 0” W ] and Municipality of Macaé, Sana [ 22 o 23’ 60” S , 42 o 10’ 60” W ].
