We recorded the species in
cerrado
areas, generally at altitudes above
500 m
.
Identified by its long wings and relatively short tail with dark violet-blue mantle and white belly and distal two-thirds of tail. Unmistakable due to long frontal crest, separated from the crown (
Sick 1997
), in addition to its distinctive call.
