Description.
Male. Body (
Fig. 1
F) oval, convex dorsally, strongly shiny, closely covered with translucent brown setae. Coloration of body black, but mouthparts, antennomeres I–II, trochanters and proximal parts of tibiae pale brown.
Head moderate in size, slightly convex dorsally, finely punctate, with straight front margin of clypeus. Eyes moderate in size, prominent; the distance between eyes about 2.1 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae relatively short, reaching about proximal 1/3 of elytra. Pronotum punctate as on head, rather strongly depressed dorsally in lateral parts; anterior margin almost straight; lateral and posterior margins gently arcuate; antero-lateral corners obtuse, slightly projecting anteriorly; postero-lateral corners obtuse; PW/PL 2.00–2.25 (2.10). Scutellar shield moderate in size, punctate as in pronotum, equilaterally triangular. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, gently arcuate in lateral margins, densely punctate, provided with three pairs of weak costae; humeral parts weakly projecting dorsally; apices right-angled; EL/EW 1.38–1.46 (1.41); EL/PL 4.22–4.75 (4.56); EW/PW 1.50–1.57 (1.53); TL/EW 1.69–1.77 (1.72).
Tergite VII transverse, with a pair of short apodemes. Sternites III–VII closely covered with short setae; caudal margin of sternite VII (
Fig. 7
A) arcuate. Tergite VIII (
Fig. 7
B) moderately sclerotized, deeply concave in mesal part of caudal margin, bearing short setae along caudal margin, with a pair of slender apodemes; tergite IX (
Fig. 7
C) membranous, sparsely covered with short spines in mesal part, with a pair of long and slender apodemes sclerotized lightly. Tegmen (
Fig. 7
D) short, well sclerotized, Y-shaped. Penis (
Fig. 7
E) relatively short, about 2.2 times as long as tegmen; pala oblong, subparallel-sided; parameroids broad, sparsely punctate, gently expanded apically, rounded at apex; trigonium short and broad, protruding from basal
2/3 to 10/11
, expanded and serrate in apical part.

, paratype, female. A) sternites V–VII, B) tergite VIII, C) sternite VIII, D) ovipositor, E) close up of apex of ovipositor.
Female. Sexual dimorphism distinct: coloration of elytra brown; PW/PL 2.00–2.33 (2.17); EL/EW 1.49–1.58 (1.54); EL/PL 4.44–5.20 (4.85); EW/PW 1.38–1.51 (1.45); TL/EW 1.77–1.90 (1.86). Caudal margin of sternite VII (
Fig. 8
A) gently arcuate. Tergite VIII (
Fig. 8
B) well sclerotized, subquadrate, concave and bearing short setae in caudal margin, sparsely punctate, with a pair of long and slender apodemes protruding from antero-lateral corners. Sternite VIII (
Fig. 8
C) well sclerotized, quadrate, bearing short spines along caudal margin and minute spines in mesal part, with a long median apodeme. Ovipositor (
Fig. 8
D, E) well sclerotized; stylus very small, projecting from postero-ventral parts of coxite; coxite (
Fig. 8
E) well sclerotized, subtriangular, finely punctate; baculus relatively short, without branch; approximate ratio of stylus, coxite and baculus (n = 1) as 1.0: 7.5: 56.0; prehensor indistinct.
Measurements.
Male (n = 3): TL 2.28–2.35 (2.31) mm; PW 0.83–0.90 (0.88) mm; PL 0.40–0.45 (0.42) mm; EW 1.30–1.38 (1.34) mm; EL 1.88–1.90 (1.89) mm. Female (n = 4): TL 2.03–2.48 (2.34) mm; PW 0.78–0.93 (0.87) mm; PL 0.35–0.45 (0.40) mm; EL 1.68–2.08 (1.94) mm; EW 1.08–1.40 (1.26) mm.
Distribution.
Malaysia
(Borneo).
Remarks.
This is a remarkable species in having the following characteristics: 1) tergite VIII deeply concave in apical margin, 2) tegmen short, and 3) penis with gently expanded parameroids.
Etymology.
The species is named after the
type
locality.
