Diagnosis. This species can be easily distinguished from other species of the genus by the following characteristics: syntergite 1+2 translucid and hind femur with two strong apical av setae. Redescription. Male. Dark brown fronto-orbital plate with 3 setulae ( Fig. 6B ). Parafacial with silver pruinosity ( Fig. 6B ). Brown palpus with lighter base ( Fig. 6B ). Dark brown antennae with lighter pedicel ( Fig. 6B ). Dark brown arista. Thorax. Dark brown mesonotum with two slightly distinct median grey stripes. Dorsocentrals 1+3, first postsutural smaller than the others ( Fig. 6C ). One postsutural intra-alar seta. Katepisternals 1+1+1, not forming an equilateral triangle, anterior seta smaller than the remaining setae ( Fig. 6A ). Wings. Smoky, but lighter at the base ( Figs. 6A, 6C ). Dark brown veins. Whitish and hyaline calypteres ( Fig. 6C ). The lower calypter is twice as long as the upper calypter. Legs. Yellowish. Femora with brownish tip. Fore tibia with a row of apical pv setae. Hind tibia with 2 apical av setae. Abdomen. Dark brown, syntergites 1+2 translucid ( Fig. 6C ). Sternite 5 with several apical setae ( Fig. 7E ; Albuquerque, 1953 : fig. 12). Terminalia.Cercus divided into two parts,longer than wide, with several setulae at the base ( Fig.7D ; Albuquerque, 1953 : fig. 8). Surstylus shorter than cercus in length ( Fig. 7D ; Albuquerque, 1953 : fig. 8). The phallapodeme is larger at the tip ( Fig. 7C ; Albuquerque, 1953 : fig. 11).
