REMARKS: The earliest mention of Eristalomya Rondani, 1857 using the spelling “ Eristalomyia ” that we have found in this study is Eristalomyia Kittel & Kreichbaumer (1872: 78) , n . syn ., as an unjustified emendation made available by similar spelling changes in two or more names from “mya” to “myia” in the same work. Eristalomya Rondani, 1857 is currently treated as a junior synonym of Eristalis Meigen, 1803 [ teste Peck (1988: 185) ].
