Checklist of the freshwater snails (Mollusca: Gastropoda) of Mongolia Author Marinskiy, Vadim V. text Zootaxa 2017 2017-01-01 4317 1 45 78 journal article 32235 10.11646/zootaxa.4317.1.2 d9650b33-97b2-4d9c-867b-79cd628daf8f 1175-5326 880022 Cd399D08-1Db1-4319-Aa0D-Db560C7C38Df Physa taslei Bourguignat, 1860 / Ph. dalmatina Küster, 1844 ( fig. 6 B ) Regional distribution. Another SpecieS of Physa , with relatiVely higher Spire (aS compared to Ph. fontinalis ) and oVoid Shell Shape (See fig. 6 B), waS found in a Sample collected in the HöVSgöl Lake, at the mouth of the Khankh RiVer (leg. T. SitnikoVa; LIN). Taylor & SitnikoVa (2004) and SitnikoVa et al. (2006) mentioned thiS SpecieS aS Physa dalmatina KüSter, 1844 . No localitieS of it in Mongolia, except of the HöVSgöl Lake, haVe been reported. Remarks. According to Taylor (2003) , Ph. dalmatina iS known from a Very limited number of localitieS Situated in the Balkan countrieS and in the Southern part of WeStern Siberia (Lake Sartlan). StarobogatoV et al . (1989) accepted Ph. dalmatina aS a Valid SpecieS but belieVed itS diStribution iS reStricted to Southern Europe and did not include it into their liSt of the PhySidae of the ex-USSR fauna. TheSe authorS thought that the RuSSian waterbodieS are inhabited by Ph. bulla O.F. Müller, 1774 (= Ph. taslei Bourguignat, 1860 ) that iS cloSely allied to Ph. dalmatina . Recently, Khokhutkin & VinarSki (2013) accepted the taxonomic name Ph. bulla aS a junior Synonym of Ph. fontinalis , that SubSequently waS corroborated by NekhaeV et al . (2015) after examination of the type SerieS of Ph. bulla . Due to Scarcity of information on Ph. dalmatina (the type SerieS of it waS deStroyed during WWII, and Taylor [2003: 165] confeSSed he haS Seen no Specimen of thiS SpecieS), it iS currently impoSSible to decide if thiS taxonomic name repreSentS a Senior Synonym of Ph. taslei .
