( Figs 1–4 , 7–16 , 30 ) Diagnosis. The new species is characterized by the relatively small body-size (male forewing length 7.0–7.8 mm), the meso- and metascutellum medially with a longitudinal brown stripe, the male tergum 9 + ectoprocts slightly shorter than tergum 8, strongly tapering posteroventrally into a digitiform process that distally bears a tuft of spinous setae, the male gonocoxite 9 posteriorly tapering in lateral view and distinctly curved laterad, the complex of male fused gonocoxites, gonapophyses and gonostyli 10 reaching to proximal segment 8 anteriorly, the male fused gonocoxites 11 bifurcated at base in lateral view, the narrowed female sternum 8 subdistally with a pair of round lobes, and the hypocaudae almost three times as long as gonocoxite 9 in lateral view. Description. Male. Body length 5.2–5.5 mm; forewing length 7.0–7.8 mm, hindwing length 5.8–6.3 mm. Head yellow. Compound eyes blackish brown. Antennae yellow with yellowish setae; scape long and thick, as long as proximal four flagellomeres. Thorax yellow; pronotum pale brown, with blackish brown spots laterally; meso- and metanotum slightly dark- er, with dark brown marking along lateral margins; meso- and metascutellum medially with a longitudinal brown stripe. Legs yellow with dark brown spots. Forewing with strongly falcate apex, slightly smoky brown, but slightly darker on anal region, with dark brown markings on branching points of some longitudinal veins and along almost entire wing margin; pterostigma reddish brown, with hyaline parts at middle. Longitudinal veins pale yellow interrupted by many brownish spots; crossveins brown. Hindwing much paler than forewing, with brown markings on branching points of some longitudinal veins. Longitudinal veins pale yellow, crossveins brown. Abdomen brown dorsally, but yellow laterally and ventrally. Tergum 9 + ectoprocts in lateral view subquadrate, but distinctly tapering posteroventrally into a digitiform process, which bears a tuft of spinous setae ( Figs 7 , 11 ). Trichobothria reduced. Sternum 9 shorter than sternum 8, slightly concaved posteriad in ventral view ( Figs 8 , 12 ). Gonocoxites 9 with a rod-shaped base and a broadly subquadrate distal plate, with hook-like apex curved dorsolaterally ( Figs 7, 8 , 12, 13 ); in ventral view distal plate with a longitudinal sulcus and covered densely with minute setae ( Figs 8 , 14 ). Complex of fused gonocoxites, gonapophyses and gonostyli 10 with a basal sclerite, which is posteriorly and laterally produced at middle in ventral view and laterally has a pair of ovoid lobes, and a short bow formed by bundled bristles, which extends anteriorly to segment 8 ( Figs 11–14 ). Fused gonocoxites 11 arched, bifurcate at base ( Figs 11–14 ). Hypandrium internum subtriangular ( Figs 11–12 ). Female. Body length 6.5–6.8 mm; forewing length 8.4–8.8 mm, hindwing length 6.8–7.2 mm. Legs with scales on pro- and mesocoxae, on pro- and mesotrochanters and on pro- and mesofemora ( Fig. 4 ). Wings with scales along proximal third respectively of RA, RP, MA, MP, CuA, CuP, and A ( Fig. 3 ) Sternum 7 mostly reduced. Gonocoxites 7 present as paired domed sclerites, bearing long setae ( Figs 9 , 15 ). Sternum 8 narrowed and arcuate, subdistally with a pair of rounded lobes ( Fig. 16 ). Fused gonocoxites 8 digitiform, bearing many short setae ( Figs 9, 10 , 15, 16 ). Gonapophyses 8 (= pudiculum) forming a tiny sclerite in ventral view ( Figs 10 , 15, 16 ). Tergum 9 + ectoprocts distinctly shorter than tergum 8, ventrally protruding into a rounded lobe, which bears long setae ( Figs 9 , 15 ). Gonocoxites 9 paired, narrow, club-shaped; hypocaudae almost three times longer than gonocoxite 9 in lateral view ( Figs 9 , 15 ). Bursa-copulatrix-spermatheca complex comprising a small but strongly sclerotized globular element, and a basal coil with lumens of different width ( Figs 9 , 15 ). Materials examined. Arrows indicating the scales on the bases of wings and legs. Scale bars: 2.0 mm. Etymology. The specific epithet “ acutata ” refers to the shape of the male tergum 9 + ectoprocts, which is distinctly tapering posteroventrad. Remarks. The species can be distinguished from other species of Asadeteva by the small size and the male tergum 9 + ectoprocts strongly tapering posteroventrally into a digitiform process, distally bearing a tuft of spinous setae and posteriorly distinctly produced into a laterally curved projection. It is notable that the scales are probably only present in females based on our examined specimens, suggesting a possible sexual dimorphism in this species. However, most scales of our female specimens were lost due to poor preservation. Based on available specimens from Chiang Mai , Thailand , which are well-preserved, the scales are present on pro-, mesocoxae, pro- and mesotrochanters, and on pro- and mesofemora, and the proximal third of the following veins: RA, RP, MA, MP, CuA, CuP, and A.
