Described from Cuba , H. lateridens is also known from the Grenadines (Carriacou) and St. Kitts ( Loomis 1933 , 1934 ; Jeekel 1999 ), although Hoffman (1999) thought these records might refer to another species because they are based on females. It also occurs in the Galapagos, and Shear and Peck (1987) suggested that it may be parthenogenetic, which is important for synanthropic species.
