This species easily recognized by the enlarged flagellomere 1 and foretarsomere 5 (the latter contrastingly dark brown in color), as well as the structure of the hind femur, with many peglike setae and a dorsally open concavity ( Figs 195–196 ). Description. We previously ( Kung & Brown, 2006 ) re-described this species. Distribution. Widespread in New World tropical lowlands. Material examined. 650♂ specimens from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, French Guiana, Jamaica, Montserrat, Panama , Peru , and Puerto Rico .
