Licea synsporos Nann.-Bremek ., Proc. Kon. Ned. Akad. Wetensch., C. 71(1):42 (1968) Sporocarps scattered, globose to subglose, dark brown 0.1–0.2 mm diam. Peridium thin, translucent, ochraceous, partly smooth, partly minutely warted; dehiscence along preformed lines with thickened smooth margins. Spores dark brown in mass, yellow brown by TL, cohering in clusters, 9–11(–12) µm diam. with a thick pale wall, subglobose to turbinate, warted on the outer edge, smooth on the surface turned towards the centre of the cluster. Type : NENB 6146 . Habitat: on moss growing on bark of Acer pseudoplatanus . Distribution: United Kingdom. Icon.: Nannenga-Bremekamp (1968: 43 , Figs. 2 AC ), Kuhnt (2019: 155 , Abb. 9a–b), Johannesen & Wetlesen (2020: 79, Figs. 40 GH ). Notes. The holotype of L. synsporos ( NENB 6146) only consists of a few sporocarps mounted on slides. These were not available for study so we base the description on the original publication. The illustrations in Kuhnt (2019) of the type slide were of insufficient quality to resolve any characters. The very similar characters of L. synchrysospora Bortnikov are discussed above.
