Figs 30–31 . Stymphalus modestus Linnavuori, 1961 :463 . Type : Holotype ♂, NATAL [Lund University, Uppsala, not examined]; Linnavuori, 1978 : 483 –485. Greenish species with reddish markings. Vertex whitish yellow with two black spots on lateral margin on each side, disc with traces of four longitudinal stripes. Face light brown with median longitudinal red stripe, margins of lora reddish, upper margin of face dark fuscous with two whitish transverse median arcs sprinkled with whitish and reddish spots. Pronotum and scutellum greenish white, the former with traces of four fulvous longitudinal stripes and the latter with dark basal triangles. Front wings greenish, often with very faint pink longitudinal bands, apical part brownish, minutely irrorated with dark brown. Vertex of head sharply triangular, concave laterally, frontoclypeus strongly carinate in upper part. Male genitalia : Pygophore long, longer than high, lobe with ligulate membranous process directed caudally, a few macrosetae on either side. Subgenital plates truncate apically, scoop­shaped. Apophysis of style short, digitate, minutely dentate. Connective long, linear. Aedeagal shaft curved at base then directed dorsally, slightly flared apically with apical gonopore. Dorsal apodeme poorly developed. Material examined : ZIMBABWE : 1 ɗ, A. Watsham, B.M. 1985­248 ( BMNH ). Remarks : Externally S. modesta resembles Shivania serrata sp. nov. , but differs from the latter as discussed under that species.
