Erythrocarpa Type indication:—“Typus: Holotypus im h Doll / Locus typicus: Borovez, Wegrand. 7. 7. 76. Doll“; also Plate LXXI: „ Taraxacum poliochloroides Doll sp. nov. Holotypus ”. Type :— Bulgarien , Rila-Gebirge , Borovez , Wegrand. 7 Jul [19]76., R . Doll [as Taraxacum poliochloroides sp. nov. Holotypus ! ] ( JE , no. det. 19061, holotype ; isotype: JE , no. det. 19062) . Epitype, designated here :— Bulgaria , montes Rodopi , Dobrostanski masiv: in pascuis in valle ca. 2 km situ occid. a pago Dobrostan , alt. ca. 1350 m , 10 May 1989 , B . Slavík , cultivated from achenes ( S 2228 ) as JŠ 4732 ( PRA 8413 , no. det. 28509, epitype; see also Taraxaca exsiccata , no. 987) . Specimens of the OM:—There are two specimens of the OM of the name T. poliochloroides in JE. Plants on the first one (JE, no. det. 19061) were annotated as holotype by R. Doll and correspond to the photograph of the type on Plate LXXI. Plants are not well preserved but there are ripe achenes, slender and with a long cone, of brown colour. The other specimen (JE, no. det. 19062), is of extremely inferior quality, difficult to interpret. Conclusion:—According to the achenes and other features, T. poliochloroides belongs to a group of relatively robust species of T. sect. Erythrosperma , quite similar to T. acutiusculum Sonck but distinct in achene characters. In order to stabilize the usage of the name T. poliochloroides , we designate an epitype. The species is accepted in the new Flora of Bulgaria (Štěpánek & Kirschner, in prep.) and described in accordance with the type material.
