Asparagaceae : Maianthemum canadense Desf. Leaf mine. ( Fig. 158 ) Whitish, upper surface, entirely linear; frass in a nearly continuous black line. Puparium. Orange-brown; formed outside the mine. Comments. The mine is seemingly indistinguishable from that of L. smilacinae on the same host, but this female specimen likely belongs to a different species based on several minor inconsistencies in coloration on the head and thorax. Based on our limited data, the two species may differ in phenology, but more observations are needed to confirm this.
