Diagnosis.
Libythea geoffroyi pulchra
is most similar to
L. g. howarthi
based on the shape of the forewing. However, the male of
L. g.
pulchra
has hindwing with an outer third that is bright orange patch on the hindwing dorsum, which is absent in
L. g. howarthi.
The female of
L. g.
pulchra
is very unique, with a forewing dorsum that has an orange mark in the discal cell, and between M
3
and 1A + 2A, which is found in no other subspecies of
L. geoffroyi
.
