Basonym: Lactobacillus plajomi Miyashita et al . 2015, 2488 VP Cells are non-motile, facultatively anaerobic rods. They grow at 15–37 °C, at pH 4.0–7.5 and with 0–8 % NaCl. They are positive for Voges–Proskauer test, tellurite tolerance, bileaesculin tolerance test and deamination of arginine [ 235 ]. The genome size of the type strain is 2.76 Mbp.
