Exogonia leucampix
(
Signoret, 1853
)
(
Fig. 80
)
Length:
male, 7.9 mm; females, 9.4-10.1 mm.
External morphology.
Head (
Fig. 80
), in dorsal view, moderately produced anteriorly, anterior margin rounded; crown with median length 1/2 interocular width and 1/3 transocular width; epicranial, temporal, and frontogenal sutures distinct. Pronotum (
Fig. 80
), in dorsal view, with width larger than transocular width. Forewings with membrane only on apex of apical cells.
Color.
Ground color of dorsum brown to dark brown. Pronotum (
Fig. 80
) with broad white to pale yellow band occupying 2/3 of disc and extending onto lateral pronotal lobes. Forewings with three broad white to yellowish-white maculae, anterior one near transverse scutellar sulcus and not reaching costal margin, one transcommissural medially, and posterior one on corium covering anteapical cells; apex hyaline. Frons dark brown with broad pale yellow macula on median portion. Clypeus, lora, and genae yellow to brownish-yellow with few brown marks. Venter and legs pale yellow or brownish-yellow.
Male genitalia.
Pygofer, in lateral view, with macrosetae on apical half and extending anteriorly along ventral margin; apical portion with inner ventral elongate process bearing numerous setae. Subgenital plates, in ventral view, slightly broadened medially, narrowing toward apex; ventral surface with macrosetae near outer margin. Styles, in dorsal view, extending posteriorly beyond apex of connective; with distinct median lobe on outer margin; portion beyond lobe elongate and slightly curved; apex narrowly rounded. Connective, in dorsal view, Y-shaped. Aedeagus, in lateral view, with shaft directed ventrally; apical portion with dorsal lobe; median portion of shaft expanded in dorsal view. Paraphyses, in dorsal view, with single pair of rami directed posteriorly, Y-shaped; apical portion of rami, in lateral view, directed dorsally; stalk as long as rami. Anal tube (segment X), in ventral view, with pair of apical areas on ventral margin with numerous setae similar to those of pygofer processes.
Female genitalia.
Sternite VII, in ventral view, with lateral margins weakly convex medially; posterior margin deeply concave medially; surface with few small setae mesobasally, transversely striate posteriorly. Pygofer similar to that of
E. flavomaculata
but with macrosetae clustered apically, few setae near ventral margin. Second valvulae, in lateral view, with three most basal teeth small and rounded, followed by subtriangular larger ones (gradually smaller toward apex). Other features of second valvulae as in
E. flavomaculata
.
