Salvator merianae
is widespread in the central portion of cis-Andean South America, occurring in
Brazil

Bolivia

Paraguay

Argentina
, and
Uruguay

). It is present in Atlantic Forest, Caatinga, Cerrado,
Chaco
, Pampas, and in enclaves of open vegetation in southern Amazonia. In
