From Venezuela , Colombia , Ecuador , Peru , Bolivia , Brazil , Paraguay , northern Argentina , and Uruguay . In Brazil it occurs in the states of Amazonas, Bahia , Ceará , Goiás , Mato Grosso , Mato Grosso do Sul , Minas Gerais , Pernambuco , Paraná , Rio Grande do Sul , São Paulo , and Tocantins and in the Distrito Federal ( Nunes et al . 2005 ; Peracchi et al . 2006 ; Gardner 2008 ). Habitat. Inhabits tropical evergreen forest, chaco, and savannas. The species roosts in caves, roofs, fence rocks, hollows trees, and buildings ( Emmons & Feer 1997 ; Reis et al. 2007 ). Three specimens were caught in São Domingos, GO, in nets open near pastures ( 13°46’ 17.03” S , 46° 37’ 30.44” W ), and two, from Alvorada do Norte, GO, were captured in front of a weir ( 14° 30’ 21.09” S , 46° 45’ 29.37” W ).
