This is a very distinctive moss characterized by asymmetrical leaf shape with a one-sidedly located midrib.
Mniomalia semlimbata
grows preferably on moist shaded substrates in forest. In the
Philippines
, this widely scattered Malesian moss previously had been reported from a few locations on Luzon (Tan and Iwatsuki 1991).
