Amblyomma tuberculatum was treated as a Nearctic and Neotropical species in Camicas et al. (1998) , but Guglielmone et al. (2003) stated that there are no bona fide natural populations of this tick in the Neotropical Region , a situation that remains unchanged according to Guglielmone et al. (2021) .
