Material.
Described on the basis of an unspecified number of male specimens from Entre Rios [province] (Argentina).
Type locality.
Entre Rios [province] [Argentina].
MACN.
In the Burmeister collection there is a male specimen with no label pinned on it, but it is associated with a square label in the box that reads "anom[a]la / Burm[eister] / Entrer [Entre
Rios
] / Kk [Kinkelin]" (handwritten by Burmeister) and a red label with the inscription "Lectotype ♂
Ecpantheria anomala
Burmeister designated by Beccacece, Vincent & Navarro." It presents the habitus and size that match Burmeister's description that feature in the original description. Therefore, we assume that it is a syntype. We hereby designated it as lectotype [MACN]. It is in good condition, with only the right antenna broken (Fig. 15).
