In Brazil it is known from the states of Pará , Tocantins , Rondônia , Mato Grosso , Mato Grosso do Sul , Goiás , Minas Gerais , and in the Distrito Federal . In Amazonia it occurs in northern Bolivia and in open vegetation enclaves in southwestern Pará and southern Rondônia , in Brazil ( Fig. 1 ). Manciola guaporicola is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits grasslands and grassy scrubland, both in dry and wet soil, where it is found amid grasses ( Ávila-Pires 1995 ; Mesquita et al . 2000 ; Uetabanaro et al. 2007; Valdujo et al. 2009 ). Mesquita et al. (2000) observed that the species seems to prefer more open physiognomies of Cerrado, but Colli et al. (2002) reported the species also in gallery forest.
