Genus
Saveljevia
Filipjev, 1927
The genus
Saveljevia
was designated by
Filipjev (1927)
who originally described four species:
Saveljevia kolaensis
Filipjev, 1927
,
Saveljevia curvidens
Filipjev, 1927
,
Saveljevia xiphonchus
Filipjev, 1927
and
Saveljevia clavicauda
Filipjev, 1927
. In this genus, the head is built quite differently from species to species, but showing some resemblance, especially with the dorsal tooth always much shorter. Later,
Saveljevia hastata
Wieser, 1953
was described and the author suggested that
Enoplolaimus spissignathus
Allgén, 1940b
is synonym of
S. curvidens
and classified
S. clavicauda
as
Parasaveljevia clavicauda
. Subsequently,
Saveljvia cornuta
Gerlach, 1956c
was described. The entire genus is composed of females and juveniles.
