This species is easily recognizable by the orange, enlarged flagellomere 1 and the large and darkened foretarsomere 5. The posterior face of the hind femur has a group of about 60 peg-like setae followed by a dorsally opened concavity ( Brown and Kung 2010 , figs 195–196). Distribution. Widespread in New World tropical lowlands. Updated distribution for Brazil . Amapá , Rio de Janeiro , Rio Grande do Sul , and Santa Catarina .
