The most important character is a pair of teeth-like structure on the anterior border of the head, near eyes, when viewed dorsally. Length of pronotum is approximately 1.8 times less than its width; pronotum is wide; fore tibiae with larger inner and smaller outer (holes) orifices of the tympanum; the outer orifice is often difficult to see; tegmina short, reaching 3 rd or 4 th tergite of abdomen. Venations on male tegmina similar to those as in the female, hindwings do not reach the apex of tegmina. The metanotal gland is well developed. Last abdominal tergite is simple; subgenital plate is narrow and long. Genitalia are with narrow and long epiphallus, bifid or bifurcated at apex, the lateral posterior lobes of the epiphallus unequal in form and closely attached. Description of Indian specimens (Male & Female): All the key characters for the identification of Indian specimens of E. ogatai are more or less similar to those reported by earlier workers. We mention herein the following observed characters: body size longer, having on each side a broad dark brown longitudinal band, which prevails from the back of the eyes to the end of the abdomen, passing through lateral sides of the pronotum and the elytra. All the tibiae possess a dark brown pre-apical spot. Abdomen is yellowish brown dorsally with six rows of dark brown dots, which run from the 1 st or 2 nd tergites. PLATE III. E. ogatai . Ƌ (1–6): 1. Habitus; 2. Head, dorsal view; 3. Metanotal gland; 4–6. View of genitalia: 4. Dorsal; 5. Ven-tral; 6. Lateral; 7. Habitus ( ). TABLE 3. Measurements (mm) of male and female of Euscyrtodes ogatai (Shiraki, 1930) .
