General shape similar to Euscyrtus , but head elongated and usually narrow with long rostrum; eyes horizontally lengthened. Tegmina reaching up to the 4 th to 7 th abdominal segments, veins parallel, longitudinal; transverse veinlets forming square shaped areolae. Hind wings are short, not much longer than the tegmina. Composition: The generic name Patiscus was established by C. Stål, 1877 for the first time with Euscirtus ( Patiscus ) dorsalis Stål, 1877 as the type species by original designation.
