Holotype : female ( MfN ). Material examined. TURKEY : Anatolien , Cilic. Taurus, Kachsebiye , 1895, 1♀ ( Holotype ) (leg. M. Holtz ); Cilic. Taurus , 1♀ , alp-region (leg. Siehe ) ( MfN ) ; Asia Minor , Taurus Cil., 1♀ ( NMW ) ; Cilic. Taurus, Dumbelek Dagh , 1904, 1♀ ( Holotype of Paranocaracris rigidus ) (det. as Nocarodes cyanipes ); Cilic. Taurus, 1♀ ( Paratype of Paranocaracris rigidus ) (leg. M. Holtz ) (det. as Nocarodes cyanipes ) (det. Cejchan , 1967 as Paranocaracris tauricola ) ( ZIN ) . Distribution. Known only from the type locality, Bolkar Dağları ( Fig. 844 ). Remarks. The word “Kachsebiye” in the original label probably refers to Kayseri Province which had larger borders in 1895. The type locality of this species must be highlands of Bolkar Mountains between the present Mersin , Karaman and Niğde provinces. The type specimens of P. tauricolus and P. rigidus were collected from the same place, Cilician Taurus [Bolkar Dağları] by M. Holtz. There is no doubt that both species belong to the same taxon. Moreover the paratype of P. rigidus in the ZIN was identified by Cejchan as “ P. tauricola . All collected specimens are females. The male sex is still unknown. Ramme (1951) has priority over Mistshenko ( Bey-Bienko & Mistshenko, 1951 ). The record of Salman (1978) from Ağrı province, N.E. Turkey should deserve to be confirmed. According to the ICZN (Articles 31.2, 34.2) the species name of this taxon is combined.
