Diagnosis: A small Cypridea species with a fairly strong rostrum and a comparatively deep, clearly delineated and high-reaching rostral sulcus. Carapace in dorsal view roundly biconvex. Posterior margin at the bottom of the larger left valve with a rounded little shield. Carapace surface thickly covered with fine but clearly prominent pore dimples. Holotype : Carapace, SMF Xe 4183. Paratypes : 6 carapaces under SMF Xe 4184 . Dimensions: Holotype , length 0.71mm , height 0.46mm . Remarks (Bate et al . herein): Cypridea kegeli Wicher is figured here in Krömmelbein (1962) : ‘Hypotype’, carapace, SMF Xe 4185; not imaged in present paper.
