Rothschild Collection.
COMMENTS
: Mathews cited his catalog number of the
holotype
in the original description. A single specimen was cataloged there. AMNH 601740 is probably a
paratype
. It is a male, collected on Flinders Island on the same date by A.H. Mattingley. Mattingley was leader of the party exploring islands in Bass Strait (
White, 1909
), and Mathews may have obtained his specimen from S.A. White at the same time he acquired the
holotype
, although I did not find it listed in the Mathews catalog. There are
five paratypes
in SAMA collected by S.A. White on Flinders Island on
5 December 1908
(P. Horton and B. Blaylock, personal commun.).
