Comments . Poriptus luctans is widely distributed throughout South America , in the Amazonian, Chacoan, and Parana subregions ( Morrone 2006 ). Although the genital morphology is quite constant, this species varies remarkably on humeral development. Specimens from southern Brazil and Argentina have much longer and sharper humeri, which are as long as the anterolateral margin. In northern specimens, humeri are about half the length of the anterolateral margin.
