Phlugiolopsis curvis
sp. nov.
, Chinese name Ḃffḃễ
(
Fig.3
)
Description.
Male. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded, furrowed dorsally. Eyes subglobular,
prominent forward and outward.Apical segment of maxillary palpus almost equal to subapical one in length, slightly swelled apically.
Pronotum elongate, anterior margin slightly prominent, posterior margin rounded; lateral lobe longer than high, humeral sinus absent. Tegmina short, terminals not surpassing posterior margin of pronotum, reaching posterior margin of second abdominal tergite, apices rounded; hind wings missing.
All femora unarmed on ventral surfaces. Fore coxa with 1 spine; fore and middle tibiae each with 6 external and 5 internal spines; fore tibial tympana open on both sides, oval. Genicular lobes of hind femur with apices rounded; hind tibia with 22–27 spines on both sides of dorsal surface separately, bearing 1 pair of dorsal apical spurs and 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs.
Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite shallowly concave. Cercus comparatively long, stout at base, apical area narrowing; near basal area with a triangular process on inner margin, its anterior margin thickened (
Fig. 3D
), apical area curved dorsad; apical third of cercus thin, obviously incurved, apex slightly acute; curving area with a small internal lobe on both dorsal and ventral surfaces separately (
Fig. 3D, E
). Subgenital plate (
Fig. 3F
) deeply concave on basal margin, apical area narrowing, posterior margin slightly rounded; styli positioned on ventral surface of subapex of subgenital plate.

Female. Tenth abdominal tergite with posterior margin lightly concave. Epiproct tongue-shaped. Cercus conical, tip acute. Ovipositor short, slightly upcurved; dorsal and ventral valvulae almost equal in length, dorsal valvula with apex acute, ventral valvula with apex weakly hook-shaped. Subgenital plate (

) with base broad, apical area tapering; basal margin concave, with a longitudinal sulcus in the midline, posterior margin faintly concave.
Coloration.
Body yellowish brown. Eyes brown. Dorsal area of head with 4 longitudinal dark brown stripes, the boundary indistinct. Scape and pedicel of antenna brown, lamellar uplift on inner margin of antennal scrobe blackish brown. Disc of pronotum with a broad longitudinal brown stripe, the longitudinal stripe slightly widened and pale on posterior area, lateral margins of two thirds anterior area of longitudinal stripe black; lateral lobe of pronotum with a brown spot. Exposing area of tegmen brown. Genicular lobes black; spines on tibia black.

Discussion.
The new species differs from known species of the genus in the following: male cercus relatively long, apical third obviously incurved; curving area of cercus with a small internal lobe on both dorsal and ventral surfaces separately.
Etymology.
The species is named after apical third of male cercus obviously incurved, from Latin
‘curv-’
(curving).
