Differs from other scutogonine genera by the following combination of characters: -body unpigmented (≠ Chamaesoma , Coiffaiteuma , Krauseuma , Meinerteuma , Xystrosoma part.) -anterior gonopods with a pair of flagella (≠ Asturasoma , Chamaesoma , Marboreuma , Origmatogona , Vascosoma , Xystrosoma ) -posterior gonopod coxa with long, pointed process (≠ Marboreuma , Origmatogona part., Vascosoma ) -posterior gonopod telopodite consisting of well-developed, subequal podomeres (≠ Chamaesoma , Marboreuma , Xystrosoma ) -second pair of postgonopodal legs (P11) with well-developed coxal hooks (≠ Asturasoma , Marboreuma , Vascosoma , Verhoeffeuma ). TABLE 1. Characters of chamaesomatid genera. Terminology adopted from Mauriès & Vicente (1977). Note: The state “2-articulate” in the column “P9 telopodite” corresponds to the state triarticulate” for the entire P9 used mainly by French authors. Meinerteuma present + long, curved, smooth, simple only fused at base undivided in midline 2-articulate with mesal process +
Origmatogona none - absent or rodlike or whiplike only fused at base divided in midline 2-articulate with or without mesal process +
Scutogona none + long, curved, smooth, simple only fused at base undivided or divided in midline 2-articulate with mesal process +
