Description.
In the Cretaceous only solitary corals.
Septa
compact, mostly in a subregular radial symmetry.
Septa
in places connected to each other. Lateral faces with thorns, upper margin smooth. Microstructure of septa of small trabeculae. Lonsdaleoid and main septa absent. Synapticulae present, mainly in the wall. Pali absent, columella by septal fusion. Endotheca generally made of thin tabulae. Wall compact, mainly septothecal with synapticulae. Marginarium absent. Coenosteum generally present, consists of costae. Budding intracalicinal.
