Remarks. Placosmilia bofilli Vidal, 1921 is based on two syntypes that belong to different species: Aulosmilia inconstans and Aulosmilia cristata . Only one specimen was illustrated. A lectotype has so far not been selected. Other occurrences. Coniacian to Santonian of the Central Tethys ( Austria ), Santonian of the Western Tethys ( Spain ).
