Remarks: one of the commonest medusae in Argentinean and Brazilian waters (Mianzan & Cornelius, 1999). Its metagenetic life cycle was described by Schiariti
et al.
(2008). The taxonomic status was unraveled by Morandini (2009). Aspects of its trophic ecology were investigated by Nagata (2015).
