Identification.
The dorsum is orange brown and washed with black. The base of the dorsal fur is dark gray (
Fig. 2G
). The ventral fur is light gray (
Tirira 2017
). Short nasals, long incisive foramina, small auditory bullae and a narrow interorbital region distinguish this species from other
Sigmodon
(
Voss 2015a
)
