Melalgus feanus (Lesne) : Rai, 1967: 25 . Taxonomy. Both sexes were described by Lesne (1899) from specimens collected in Myanmar . The species was redescribed and illustrated by Rai (1967) from specimens collected in the north-eastern Indian states of Assam and Uttarakhand. Photographs are included by Borowski & Węgrzynowicz (2012) , and Zhang et al . (2022) . The species can be distinguished from the other Oriental species of Melalgus by the lack of lateral carinae on the elytra. Distribution. China ( Zhejiang ), India ( Assam , Uttarakhand ), Myanmar , Thailand , Vietnam ( Liu 2021 ). Biology. Gardner (1933) bred and described larvae from Mallotus philippinensis (Lam.) Müll.Arg. ( Euphorbiaceae ). Beeson & Bhatia (1937) collected the beetles from caged wood of an unknown tree species in May.
