ETYMOLOGY: The specific name is a Latin noun referring to the hook-shaped appendage at the embolus tip.
DIAGNOSIS: Males resemble those of
P. samadam
in having a simple, tubelike embolus (fig. 136). They differ in having a basally diverging conductor and embolus (fig. 134, 136; rather than parallel), and a hooklike projection at the embolus tip (fig. 137; rather than a platelike
