Pseudapis anomala was described by Kirby (although with some doubts about its placement) as a new monotypic genus within ‘Sphegidae’ (= Sphecidae ) and it was subsequently recognised as a bee by KOHL (1906 , 1907 ). Distribution. Reported from the Socotra Archipelago and the Arabian Peninsula ( Aden ) by KOHL (1906 , 1907 ). In the Socotra Archipelago reported from Moukaradia (= Gebel Raggit); Homhil ( KIRBY 1900 , 1903 ); Ras Shoab; Abd-el-Kuri; and Samha ( KOHL 1906 , 1907 ).
